Cold weather is rough on everyone, and that includes spiders. Once cooler temps hit, everyone's favorite eight-legged creatures start looking for a warm space to call home.
If you're not comfortable with your garage being that space, it's time to pay attention to your garage door, specifically the base of your garage door. It's common for leaves, cobwebs, and debris to accumulate around the base of the door, tripping the safety eyes, and preventing the door from closing.
Maintenance to prevent this is relatively simple. Using a broom, sweep away any fallen foliage. Then, gently run the bristles of the broom around the edge of the door and across the sight line of the safety eyes.
